CENTRAL LABORATORY "CENTRLAB" was founded in 1954 together with the Factory of Rescue Equipment and Miner's Lamp "FASER" S.A

The Central Laboratory constitutes a unit of "FASER" S.A.

The Laboratory "CENTRLAB" carries out the testing of:

  • gas filters & combined filters,
  • full face masks
  • half masks & quarter masks
  • filtering half masks to protect against particles
  • filtering devices with hood for self- rescue from fire,
  • self-contained closed-circuit breathing apparatus compressed oxygen or compressed oxygen-nitrogen type,
  • self- contained open- circuit compressed air breathing apparatus (SCBA),
  • compressed air line breathing apparatus ,
  • filter self-rescuer

The Central Laboratory CENTRLAB also conducts the operational testings of the above listed equipment. Those tests are performed by the experienced users of the aforementioned devices.

In 1999, the Central Laboratory was awarded the ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE No. L 259/1/99 issued by the Polish Center for Testing and Certification.
In 2002, the Laboratory adapted its quality system to the requirements of the standard:
PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025: 2001.
The Central Laboratory CENTRLAB is accredited by the Polish Center for Testing and Certification- the Accreditation Certificate No. AB 259.
The Laboratory carries out testings in six specialist workrooms:
  • Air Breathing Apparatus Workroom,
  • Flammability Testing Workroom,
  • Oxygen Breathing Apparatus Workroom,
  • Gas Filters Workroom,
  • Combined Filters Workroom,
  • Weighing Room

Checking and rating are carried out in the Rating Workroom.
Apart from the above listed tests, the Laboratory also carries out the testings & services on clients request. Those tests are performed in accordance with the received requirements on non- accredited stands, but complying with the quality system of the Laboratory.
The Laboratory employs highly qualified and experienced technical staff.

he Central Laboratory possesses specialist laboratory equipment used for measurements, testing and rating.
Also special documented procedures & general instructions, testing procedures & instructions and rating instructions are used for all testings performed by the Laboratory.
The Central Laboratory assures its Clients full confidentiality and their data protection.
The Central Laboratory CENTRLAB cooperates with the laboratories of the following institutions:
  • Central Mines Rescue Station- Bytom,
  • Central Institute for Labour Protection- National Research Institute- £ód¼,
  • Military Institute of Chemistry and Radiometry- Warszawa,
  • State Mining Authority- Katowice.

The aim of the Central Laboratory is to provide impartial, unbiased and independent third party laboratory services that satisfy the needs of economical and social development and meet the expectations of society and international community.
